On June 1st, 2024, over 250 Kenyans from Rome and neighboring regions gathered to celebrate Madaraka Day. The event was hosted by Amb. Fredrick Matwang’a, with Amb. Ann Wanjohi as the chief guest. President William Ruto’s focus on “promoting agriculture and food security” was highlighted, in line with Kenya’s 61st Madaraka Day theme.
Dubbed “Madaraka Cultural Day”, the event aimed to celebrate Kenyan culture through music, food, dance, attire, and art, fostering unity among the Kenyan diaspora from Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, and Albania.
